NPR Covers the LA Fashion District
Did you hear the story about the LA Fashion District and the local apparel industry on NPR today? If you missed it, you can still listen to it here.
The piece is part of a special series called “American Made: The New Manufacturing Landscape.” This episode had reporters David Greene and Kelly McEvers visiting the California Market Center (which they referred to it by its former name, the CalMart) and getting a crash course in premium denim with a visit to the Blue Creations wash house.
The story comes with lots of photos, like the one above by John Francis Peters. I especially like the denim washing machine in action shot.
