E-COMMERCE SHOP WITTMORE OPENS POP-UP SHOP
Wittmore's Next Step
The name Wittmore sounds like something from a history book, or perhaps a mountain ensconced in a national park.
In Los Angeles, Wittmore is the current tenant of a pop-up shop called Liberty Fairs presents Concept 8366 ½.
Wittmore’s Paul C. Witt set up operations at the pop-up shop, located at 8366 ½ W. Third St., smack in the middle of one of Los Angeles’ stylish boutique neighborhoods. It is the first bricks-and-mortar experience for Wittmore, an e-commerce operation run out of Hoboken, N.J
“I had been looking to do a pop-up store in the New York area,” Witt said of his retail operation. “But real estate is on the move again and a lot of spaces didn’t work out.”
Producers of trade show Liberty Fairs, which will debut Aug. 19-21 in Las Vegas, offered Witt a pop-up space in L.A., reportedly six weeks before the 8366 ½ space opened, and the rest is a story of retail-on-the-go. Witt works the shop floor and sells cool brands such as Gloverall, Mollusk, Topo Designs. In late July, Wittmore will move, and another retailer will move into Liberty Fair's pop-up. But there’s a possibility that Paul might open a permanent boutique for Wittmore too. Whoo-hoo.
