Liza Stewart Opens in The New Mart

Showroom owner Liza Stewart is debuting her new showroom in its new location, suite 900 of The New Mart, in time for the June 10–13 run of Los Angeles Fashion Market.

The Liza Stewart Showroom has been housed in the California Market Center for the past 15 years, carrying a mix of contemporary brands. For the June market, Stewart will showcase the latest collections by Eva Franco, Maria Bianca Nero, Yoana Baraschi, Yoana Baraschi Blue, Coatology New York, Gold Hawk and Only Hearts, as well as Butterflyzebra, Stewart’s own collection, and two guest collections, Astars and AS by DF.

“We’ve been a destination for contemporary,” Stewart said. “[In our new space,] we’re making ourselves more accessible for our accounts.”

The 2,700-square-foot New Mart space has been remodeled with a fresh look that includes exposed bricks, white walls and a loft-like open floor plan. Stewart said she was looking to move to a larger space with additional storage. The showroom also has a kitchen tucked into a corner and large office for Stewart overlooking the fashion district. Future décor plans call for white hardwood floors and custom display shelves for accessories.

Joining Stewart in the new showroom are account executives Jessica Lyle and Michelle Ontanon; sales manager Ashley Segal; showroom manager Christy Castro-Kahn; and Jhoanne Mecija who handles graphic design and social media for the showroom.

In the days before market, Stewart and her team were working in a temporary space in The New Mart while construction was underway in the new showroom. Stewart praised The New Mart management for making the move an easy one.

“When I first moved to Los Angeles 17 years ago, I started in this building,” Stewart said. “It’s like I’m coming home.”
