L.A. Fashion Week Fall '10: Directives West
Directives West, which normally holds its fashion presentations during the biannual Majors Market, joined in the Los Angeles Fashion Market and Los Angeles Fashion Week festivities with First L.A., its Fall 2010 contemporary runway show. Held March 19 in the penthouse of the Cooper Design Space, the show featured looks from brands such as Fluxus, Black Collection, Easy Money, Jonesy, MM Couture, Dolan, Thursday Island and Kersh.
Directives West, the West Coast merchandising consulting division of New York–based Doneger Group, said it believes in statement-sweater dressing, military-inspired jackets and pants, lingerie detailing, and sporty separates for Fall 2010. Slouchy T-shirts, leggings, fleece cut into sophisticated silhouettes, fur vests, mini skirts and skin-tight jeans were heavily represented on the runway.—Erin Barajas
