Trixxi Hires 'Project Runway' Alum
Trixxi Clothing Co., the Los Angeles–based juniors dress and sportswear company, has hired Kathleen “Sweet P” Vaughn as its lead designer.
Vaughn, who participated in the “Project Runway” reality show in 2008 and is an alumna of Bebe, will work with Leslie Flores, Trixxi’s president and head of design. Flores and Annette Soufrine, the company’s chief executive, hope that Vaughn’s presence will soon be seen on store floors, given the fast pace of the juniorswear business.
According to a release from the company, Trixxi is a $40 million company with distribution in major department stores nationwide.
Vaughn, who has produced her own club wear and sleepwear lines, said she will add her quirky sensibility to Trixxi’s line. “It is exciting to be part of a progressive female-led company that is both fast-paced and family-oriented. The team here is unlike any place I’ve ever worked, and I’m so excited to be a part of their continued growth,” she said.—Erin Barajas
