Sustainable Brand Kindom Takes A Bow

After spending a couple of decades working as a designer, Claire Powers wanted to make a statement against waste and pollution in the fashion industry.

On July 19, she introduced a fashion line that she hoped could be an alternative. It’s called Kindom and it was introduced at a party in a one-night only pop-up shop in downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District.

Looks include convertible dresses and pants, tops, shorts and tees made out of reclaimed fabrics, as well as sustainable fabrics such as hemp and bamboo. Retail price points range from $88 for a tee to $198 for a convertible dress. Powers said Kindom is a mix of passion and purpose. “A lot of people find their passion, but not their purpose,” she said.
