MRket and Project to Co-locate in New York
MRket and Project menswear trade shows will share the same show floor at the Javits Center during the two shows’ July 17–19 run in New York.
The news follows the April acquisition of MRket parent company Business Journals Inc. by UBM, the owner of Project. The two shows previously showed at separate spaces at the Javits Center.
In addition to sharing space, the two shows will share registration and amenities including refreshments and VIP car service as well as cross-show promotions.
“We are very excited to join forces with MRket,” said Erik Ulin, UBM’s president of men’s, in a statement. “This opens up a venue of new opportunities for specialty retailers to explore brands in the contemporary world at Project and vice versa. We have a great selection of brands to kick off the beginning of men’s market after NYFW: Men’s.”
The two shows will continue to operate separate sales and marketing teams but will work “closely together to align programs and benefits for exhibitors, media and retailers. Looking beyond July, the teams are working to fully integrate all aspects of both shows,” the company announced.
In addition to Project, UBM operates MAGIC, WWDMAGIC, Pooltradeshow, FN Platform, Coterie and Intermezzo. BJI’s shows also include Stitch, Moda NY, Accessories The Show and Fame.
