300 Years of Menswear
If you have not yet seen “Reining Men” at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (or even if you have), now is your chance to see the costume exhibition with the experts.
The Costume Society of America’s Western Region is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a visit on June 18 to the “Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715-2015” exhibition at LACMA and a presentation by Sharon S. Takeda, LACMA senior curator and department head of costume and textiles, and Clarissa M. Esguerra, LACMA assistant curator. The two will discuss the exhibition, which explores the history of men's dress from the eighteenth century to today.
There will also be a presentation on the 40-year history of the CSA Western Region by CSA Past President Inez Brooks-Myers.
The event is open to CSA members and non-members, but advance registration is required by June 15. Tickets for CSA members are $20. Admission for non-members is $25. The ticket will give you access to the museum all day.
