Combat Gent Opens First Retail Store in Santa Monica
No guerrilla warfare here.
Combatant Gentleman is for the well-heeled crowd who likes Italian wool suits at a reasonable price.
For four years, the menswear company in Irvine, Calif., has provided 100 percent Italian wool suits via its website www.combatgent.com.
Now it is opening its first brick-and-mortar location on the second floor of Santa Monica Place in Santa Monica, Calif.
The 2,200-square-foot store, which debuts July 20, will offer Combat Gent's entire ready-to-wear collection that includes suits, tuxedos, outerwear, dress pants, tops, bottoms, accessories and shoes.
The outpost will also offer made-to-order suiting from touchscreen displays as well as custom made-to-measure suiting by appointment.
Vishaal Melwani, the company's co-founder, chief executive and creative director, said the company has experimented with pop-up shops and traveling made-to-measure venues but is ready to go for a permanent location.
The store's interior design will be industrial with raw steel, muted tones and darker wood.
