California Snowboarder Shaun White Partners With Macy's for Capsule Collection
Extreme California snowboarder Shaun White, who has won two gold medals in the Winter Olympics and is the record holder at the Winter X Games, is getting a little more air with a collaboration with Macy’s to launch a capsule collection of hip clothing called Wht Space.
Shaun, an icon in the world of extreme sports where he also skateboards, tapped his adrenaline-filled life to create a line of fashion-forward staples that put a twist on casual wear.
The collection will include abstract prints, short-sleeve wovens, statement T-shirts and embellished bomber jackets. Whimsical prints meet slim fits, and metallic hardware adorns classics that are edgy but urbane updates.
“This line for Macy’s is exciting for me because it represents what I’m wearing now—my style and my taste,” White said.
Wht Space will only be in stores for a limited time and is launching in approximately 175 Macy’s locations in mid-June. Items will range in price from $24 to $29 for tees, $49 to $59 for woven shirts, $59 to $69 for denim and $89 to $299 for outerwear.
White, also known as the "Flying Tomato" for his fast and high snowboarding techniques and red hair, has been busy lately. In January he bought a minority share in Mammoth Mountain and before that spent $38 million to buy Snow Summit and Bear Mountain where he perfected his high-flying act.
On the clothing and accessories front, the 29-year-old athlete has launched a line of clothes with Target as well as snowboards and boots he developed with snow equipment manufacturer Burton and goggles and sunglasses with eyewear maker Oakley.
