Dyneema Denim was created by Italian denim mill Berto E.G. Industria Tessile S.r.l. with using technical yarn spun by Filtes International S.r.l. using Dyneema fibers.

DSM Dyneema is looking to add a new characteristic to denim: high strength. The Dutch maker of ultrastrong Dyneema fiber has been working with denim mills to make a super-strong denim for performance markets like motorcycling and action sports.

The company recently launched Dyneema Denim created by Italian denim mill Berto E.G. Industria Tessile S.r.l. and technical yarn spinners Filtes International S.r.l. According to Dyneem, the new “almost indestructible” denim “outperforms typical jeans and jackets by a factor of seven in terms of abrasion resistance, durability and tear strength while still aging like real denim.”

Dyneema Denim has been picked by Australian motorcycling-inspired clothing label Saint, which is using the fabric in its Unbreakable line of pants and jackets.

Dyneema says the “denim can endure about 30 meters of post-crash slide time over asphalt without ripping, compared to the 4 meters regular denim can handle.”

But to prove the point, the company has released a series of videos called “Trailblazers.”
