Cruise Line Launches Fashion Week Voyage
For those who can't get enough fashion during their normal day-to-day life, now they can spend their vacation living and breathing fashion.
Cunard, the British cruise lines, recently announced it is organizing a special Transatlantic Fashion Week aboard the Queen Mary 2 next year that will start in Southampton, England, on Sept. 1 and end up in New York on Sept. 8 - just in time for New York Fashion Week.
On board will be British designer Zandra Rhodes as well as fashion historian Colin McDowell and fashion commentator Fern Mallis, who launched a series of New York fashion shows known as Seventh on Sixth, which morphed into New York Fashion Week.
Rhodes, who has dressed some the world's most iconic celebrities, including Jackie Onassis, will reveal designs from her collections while models from Storm modelling agency take to the catwalk during the voyage.
Alongside these fashion greats, guests will have the opportunity to meet the designers of the future, as students from The Royal College of Art showcase their latest collections.
