Shafer’s Bluer Than Indigo Takes A Bow
Jeff Shafer started his denim ventures in California, but he relocated to the Portland, Ore.-area more than nine years ago. It’s the address of his new shop Bluer Than Indigo, which sells Shafer’s jeans brands such as Bluer Denim. The shop represents Shafer's first foray into multi-brand retail. The Bluer Than Indigo shop also offers other brands such as Schott NYC, Shwood Eyewear, Bella Dahl, Deus Ex Machina, Wood & Faulk bags, caps from Ebbets Fields Flannels and Shafer's own Agave Denim.
Oregon’s gain is California’s loss here. But Shafer did his best to give a consolation prize. On Sept. 30, he produced a grand opening party for Blue Than Indigo. It was attended by members of the Portland Timbers Major League Soccer team, who just happen to be big rivals of the L.A. Galaxy MLS team. Will we ever get over the Oregon – L.A. rivalry?!?
