Luxe Hotel Suite That Punk Rock Built
Call it the suite that punk rock built.
Vivienne Westwood, generally credited for outfitting the Sex Pistols with the safety pins and bondage looks in the mid-1970s, helped design a $25,000 a night suite at The London West Hollywood hotel, located in West Hollywood, Calif.
The bi-level suite stretches out over 11,000-square-feet. It offers a 5,000 square foot private outdoor rooftop terrace, it also features a media room, kitchen, dining room, and for suite guests, private shopping trips to the Vivienne Westwood boutique on 8320 Melrose Ave. Gonzalez Architects and Richmond Design made the plans for the luxe suite. Westwood’s fashion house helped out with some coups de grace, said Andreas Kronthaler, designer partner and creative director for the Vivienne Westwood fashion house.
“We were initially approached by The London West Hollywood to add inspiration to the penthouse with our prints and graphics. We have specially curated rugs, wall-hangings and soft furnishings to bring a subtle element of our brand to the luxury apartment. It’s really exciting to see our designs translated into an interior space,” he said in a prepared statement.
The suite is part of a $25 million renovation of the hotel. The suite’s debut was celebrated with a party where some of Young Hollywood dropped by wearing Vivienne Westwood. Take a look.
