Gap Inc. announced Nov. 20 that Jeff Kirwan was named global president for the Gap brand and Andi Owen was named global president for Banana Republic brand.

Both are veteran executives at Gap Inc., the largest specialty retailer in the world. Both will report to Art Peck, who will become Gap Inc.’s chief executive officer in February. Glenn Murphy announced that he was stepping down in October.

Peck said, “We’ll start 2015 with a management team comprised of both established executives and the next generation of brand leaders ready for the next generation of customers.”

Kirwan’s most recent job was serving as president of greater China for Gap, where he oversaw the opening of 100 stores in China, as well as developing an e-commerce strategy for the giant area.

Owen most recently led the Gap Outlet division. Before running Gap Outlet, she spent 19 years working at Banana Republic.

Also on Nov 20, Gap Inc announced results for its third quarter, which ended Nov. 1. Net sales were $3.97 billion during the quarter, which the company said was up 1 percent. Same-store sales declined 2 percent during the quarter.
