Eva Mendes Adds Some Oomph to New York & Co.'s Spring Line-up
Movie star Eva Mendes was everywhere in Los Angeles recently to showcase her ladylike Spring collection being carried exclusively by New York & Co.
She made an appearance at the retailer's new pop-up shop at the Beverly Center and then she was down at the Los Cerritos Center in Cerritos, Calif., hobnobbing with clients and getting her picture taken with customers who bought something from her label.
The match up between New York & Co. and Mendes has turned out to be a financial hit for the retailer, once called Lerner Shops. When the numbers were in for the retailer, Mendes' label helped the company's relaunched e-commerce site draw more business than before.
For the Holiday season, Mendes' collection pulled in customers eager to buy party dresses and specialty togs as well as desk to dinner dresses, bodysuits, blouses and skirts.
The actress, who grew up in Glendale, Calif., said her Spring collection was inspired by springtime in New York. She employed a palette of rich blues, oranges, vintage floral prints and soft, earthy tones.
Prices for separates range from $46.95 to $64.95, while dresses start at $79.95.
