David Yurman Opens New Store at SoCal Shopping Center
For years, you could only buy David Yurman-designed jewelry at high-end department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue.
But the New York-based jeweler, who spent part of the 1960s living in Northern California's Big Sur and also taking a jewelry design class at Santa Monica Community College, has been rolling out his own stores.
His fourth store in California opened on Jan. 24 at the Westfield Topanga mall in Canoga Park.
The 1,403-square-foot space was conceptualized by architecture firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates. It features classically modern architecture that reflects the jewelery line's clean and classic looks. The store will carry the gold and sterling silver designs for which Yurman is known. There also will be watches as well as special one-of-a-kind designs, limited-edition fine jewelry, engagement rings and wedding bands.
Nearly two years ago, David Yurman redesigned his store on Rodeo Drive, the premier shopping street in Beverly Hills. He also has a store at South Coast Plaza in Orange County and another boutique at the Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, Calif.
