Chinese New Year: Retail Centers Celebrate In A Big Way
With a major Chinese-American community, Chinese New Year always has been a big deal in California, but this year, the holiday has become even more prominent.
Malls such as Beverly Center in Los Angeles have been producing installations celebrating the Chinese New Year. At the mall’s Center Court on level 6, Beverly Center built the mall’s first traditional Wishing Tree. Here people can write wishes and hang them on the tree. Coins, lanterns, ribbons and red envelopes symbolizing good luck also adorn the Beverly Center’s Wishing Tree. The installation will remain until Feb. 28.
