Fashion Designer Lloyd Klein Puts His Imprint on Eyewear

Los Angeles designer Lloyd Klein loves everything about Hollywood - the celebrities, the glamour and the red carpets.

So when Los Angeles-based eyewear company Ivory + Mason asked Klein to design some eye frames, he naturally turned to Hollywood for inspiration.

"Hollywood is all about eyewear and sunglasses and the stars who wear the sunglasses," he said in his French accent. "I am in love with the Marlon Brando style and Marilyn Monroe when she was with Arthur Miller. The whole look was inspired by this."

Maybe that's why the line of glasses and sunglasses, known as the Ivory + Mason by Lloyd Klein eyewear selling in the $200 to $225 range, are named after Brando and Monroe.

The frames have clean, simple and colorful lines for both men and women. "My favorite colors are navy and brown and gray," Klein said. "And then we have the same styles with trendy, summer-like colors. We mixed orange and purple and transparencies with ruby colors. We used a lot of jewel tones in a young and trendy way."

Klein has had his design house in Los Angeles for several years where he has become known as the "designer to the stars." His fashions have been worn by models such as Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford as well as entertainers such as Vanessa Williams and Christina Aguilera.
