Rubin mixes crisp tailoring with an easy aesthetic for the collection, which has a color palette that ranges from light neutrals to cheery bright pastels.
The collection is made in the U.S. using American-made fabrics—“where I can,” said Rubin—as well as Irish wool and some Italian textiles. The pieces are packed with subtle details such as top stitching and tab-closure pockets.
“I started thinking about guys like myself who grew up surfing and being into punk rock but wanting to dress rebellious and edgy,” Rubin said. “I want it to be playful, to make a suit you can dress up or wear it like I am right now, with jeans and a Hawaiian shirt.”
