NEW STORE TO INTRODUCE EMERGING DESIGNERS
MRKT Opens In Silver Lake
MRKT Silver Lake officially opened its doors on Oct. 18 at 3814 W. Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles's stylish Silver Lake district. The new boutique's co-owners Steven Torres and Kenji Sunaga promised to give Los Angeles men this thing; fashion labels not seen in the City of Angels.
After gaining experience at leading L.A. boutiques such as Traffic, Maxfield and Vivienne Westwood, they struck out on their own and scouted Tokyo, Paris and London for emerging designers. They found some of the lines currently gracing the shelves of their new boutique. The address formerly housed the gift shop Serifos.
Some of MRKT’s lines are Whiz Limited, Commune De Paris, Discovered, Doublet, Soe and Blk Dnm. Torres and Sunaga also intend for their space to be a haven for new artists. On one of MRKT’s walls, there's a sculpture of a robot by Jose Torres, no relation to Steven Torres.
