Gerry Building Hosts Rooftop Party for Majors Market
Apparel maker Shawn Far is the new owner of the Gerry Building, and he's wasting no time putting his own stamp on the historic venue.
He has hired a crew to apply new paint everywhere (check out the light turquoise walls in the entryway) and he was eager to welcome buyers to the majors market.
On Monday night, Mary Essuman, the building's manager, organized a rooftop party where the view of the downtown skyline was rosy at 6:30 p.m. as the sun was setting. Showroom owners and a few buyers showed up for complimentary drinks and some pretty nice noshes to end the day.
On the rooftop enjoying the evening were Emmalena Bland and Bea Gorman from the Salt & Pepper Showroom. Miriana Ojeda, who has a showroom on the seventh floor, stopped by for a drink, and Melissa King and Alice Pau from the Colorblind Showroom on the sixth floor were checking out the view.
For those who missed the party, you'll be getting a second chance. Another fete is planned for buyers attending Los Angeles Fashion Market. It is scheduled to take place on the roof at 5:30 p.m. next Monday, Oct. 14.
