Cerre brought a chic crowd to Melrose Avenue last week when it held a party and video installation at its store on March 20. Designers Flavie and Clayton Webster are known for their edgy, minimalist ready-to-wear and wanted to celebrate.

“It was about doing a little event for the people that have been supporting us forever and showing the movie we did,” said Flavie. The movie, which was selected by Style.com for its Fall 2013 Video Fashion Week, presented the Fall collection while playing on the ideas of ascension, expansion and dissolution. “It was Clayton’s idea – he shot it himself and put it together himself,” explained Flavie who designs the collection with her husband, a multi-talented designer, musician and artist. A live performance of the soundtrack by Marsona by Brian McKinley of Black Bananas and RTX, and Clayton Webster accompanied the film adding a psychedelic, other worldly feeling to the installation.

The Fall collection was also on display in the store to preview. This season the collection expands on the brand's timeless chic aesthetic integrating prints, more colors and structured fabrics. “It was a continuation, but at the same time with a new modern element,” explained Flavie. “It’s perfect for dressing up or dressing down."
