CMC Temporaries to Bow in August, Select and Transit Postponed Until October
Select and Transit—the contemporary apparel, accessories and footwear trade shows organized by the California Market Center during its LA Fashion Markets—will not be held during the upcoming Aug. 5–8 market.
Instead, the CMC will host apparel, accessories and footwear exhibitors at LA Fashion Market Temporaries, set for Aug. 5–6 in the CMC Fashion Theater.
“Select and Transit are being postponed until October due to scheduling conflicts, but as a courtesy to brands who have regularly scheduled market appointments, we’ve created an LA Fashion Market Temporaries exhibits space that will give apparel, accessory and shoe brands a place to meet with their West Coast accounts during the first two days of market,” said Joanne Lee, CMC senior vice president.
The CMC also announced it will begin opening market weeks on Sunday, beginning with the Oct. 13–16 run of Los Angeles Fashion Market.
In recent years, market has officially started on Monday, but several showrooms opened a day early to accommodate buyers who prefer to shop over the weekend.
For August market, the CMC will continue to host a preview day, on Aug. 4, for showrooms that want to meet with buyers on Sunday.
