“I am delighted to be joining CAbi,” Coté said. “This company not only stands for high-quality, beautiful design, but it has also provided 3,300 of its entrepreneurial consultants with a home-based business opportunity in the fashion industry for more than 10 years.”

Most recently, Coté was the CEO of the apparel company Tribal Sportswear Inc., based in New York and Montreal, where she had been since 2009 and led the company’s restructuring and launch of new products.

She also spent six years with Jones Apparel Group as CEO of Jones Apparel’s business divisions, including wholesale bridge, better and moderate apparel, suits and dresses. She oversaw such brands as Jones New York, Anne Klein New York and Nine West.

Prior to Jones Apparel Group, Coté had a number of executive positions at McNaughton Apparel Group, which was acquired by Jones Apparel Group.

Designer Carol Anderson founded CAbi in 2001 to sell directly to consumers. She had previously sold her label to department stores and specialty stores. Last year, two private equity firms—Irving Place Capital and J.H. Whitney—completed a joint investment in the company.
