Forever 21 Executive Moves to Uniqlo US
Uniqlo’s new chief operating officer for the United States comes directly from Los Angeles.
Larry Meyer, who until recently was the executive vice president at Los Angeles–based Forever 21, has moved over to Japanese casual-clothing retail chain Uniqlo as one of its top U.S. executives.
Meyer will report to Nobuo Domae, who is chief executive of Uniqlo US as well as the senior executive group officer of Uniqlo’s parent company, Fast Retailing in Tokyo.
“Larry's addition to the Uniqlo US leadership team is a further indication of the global organization's commitment to the important U.S. market," said Tadashi Yanai, Fast Retailing’s chairman, president and chief executive.
Prior to joining Forever 21 in 2001, Meyer was the chief financial officer and senior vice president at childrenswear retailer Gymboree. He also spent five years as the chief financial officer for Toys R Us.—Deborah Belgum
