Tie The Knot Pops For Marriage Equality
Christmas is a few weeks away. Valentine’s Day is next year. But Dec. 5 was the right time for Tie the Knot, a pop-up shop devoted to the cause of Marriage Equality, to open at the Beverly Center.
Tie The Knot is an advocacy group founded by Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita to promote marriage equality and civil rights for gays.
Off the soapbox, Ferguson et al also hope to make their voice heard with fashion. They partnered with neckwear brand The Tie Bar to make Tie The Knot bow ties, skinny ties, tie accessories, you name it, all with the Tie the Knot logo of an owl wearing a bow tie.
Proceeds from the pop-up shop’s sales go to groups advocating for Tie the Knot’s causes. The pop-up shop, which is located on the 7th floor of the Beverly Center will stay in business until Jan. 10.
Of course the debut party was filled with guys in ties, but the guest list also featured some of Ferguson’s celeb buddies such as Kathy Griffin, Sofia Vergara, and Jason Collins, a basketball player who came out of the closet.
