BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP FOUNDERS TO RECEIVE HONORARY DOCTORATES
Max and Lubov Azria to be Honored by Academy of Art University
Max and Lubov Azria are this year’s honorees of the Academy of Art University School of Fashion. The Azrias will be awarded Honorary Doctorate degrees at this year’s Graduation Fashion Show and Awards Ceremony which will take place on May 9 in San Francisco. Past recipients of the honorary award include Sarah Burton, Philip Treacy, James Galanos, Dame Vivienne Westwood, Azzedine Alaïa, Yigal Azrouël, HRH Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud and Alexander McQueen.
Max Azria is the founder, designer and CEO of the California-based BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP and Lubov, his wife, is the Chief Creative Officer. Together they have created an empire that includes the brands BCBGMAXAZRIA and Hérve Léger by Max Azria with over 570 retail stores worldwide. Dr. Elisa Stephens, President of the Academy of Art will present the degrees to the power couple at the fashion show where they will select students for a coveted internship placement.
