OptiTex Opens Hong Kong Office, Inks Deal in Italy
Petach Tikva, Israel–based CAD/CAM provider OptiTex opened a new corporate office in Hong Kong under the direction of Nick Wei, who was recently named regional sales director.The new office will help support the company’s sales and marketing efforts in the Asia-Pacific region.An industry veteran with 20 years of experience in the international garment industry, Wei has been working in the garment-technology field since 1999 as sales, pre-sales and project manager.
His career has included positions at Lectra, Prima Design Systems, Lawson, and Parellax Limited, an ERP [enterprise resource planning] company he founded and operated.

I am certain he will bring his deep knowledge of the specific needs of our customers in the region,’ said Ofer Asif, OptiTex’s vice president of Asia and emerging markets. “The Asia-Pacific market for garment-industry solutions continues to grow, and we realized it was time to open our local offices to serve the region’s growing demands, as well as enable us to be more responsive to local market needs.”
OptiTex’s new Hong Kong office is part of the company’s efforts to expand its client base worldwide and better support its existing customers.OptiTex recently inked a deal with C&C Co. srl, a Milan-based company that provides production, distribution, support and installation of CAD/CAM solutions in Italy.According to OptiTex, the affiliate agreement between the two companies “will secure an enhanced route to market for OptiTex’s advanced software solutions.”
“Italy is a significant European market in our industry and a potential growth area for us,” said Amnon Shalev, OptiTex’s vice president for Europe and North Africa. “Our partnership with C&C Co. and its highly skilled technical and commercial team provides us with solid access to the leading players in the market and presents us with an excellent opportunity to strengthen our position in Italy.”
Founded in 2005, C&C Co. provides CAD solutions for apparel, automotive and industrial fabrics makers.
OptiTex provides 2-D and 3-D CAD/CAM and virtual prototyping software solutions for the apparel, automotive, aeronautics, industrial fabrics and upholstery industries.
