For anyone who has walked through a reggae concert, the name Zion Rootswear is familiar. For years, the Florida-based company has designed and wholesaled Bob Marley T-shirts.
The company recently announced a partnership with the estate of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and Greenlight , a Los Angeles-basedmedia licensing group, which also represents the estates of iconic figures such as Albert Einstein and Johnny Cash.
With the Martin Luther King Jr. license, Zion Rootswear gave itself a big job. It would develop shirts for men and women which would be fashionable, and celebrate and promote Dr. King’s teachings, said Brian Conley, president of Zion Rootswear.
