LA Fashion Week Spring 2013: NAMI
Sarah Nami Ahn, debuted her Spring collection on the runway at Concept Fashion Week LA on Oct. 13. The Korean-born designer grew up as an army brat traveling around the world and holds a PhD in neurosciences. Changing her direction in life to become a fashion designer, she launched the collection just a year ago.
For Spring ‘13 Ahn married a variety of elements. Hi- and low-hem tops paired with pencil skirts, tuxedo-inspired jackets paired with leggings, and dresses were made with multi-layered architectural silhouettes. There were easy-to-wear dresses as well as fitted sheaths with over-exaggerated piping details. The palette came in neutral shades of white and black and khaki, accented with bright pops of pink, yellow, purple and blue.—N. Jayne Seward
