Lady Gaga Looks to L.A. for Vintage Fashion Inspiration
Lady Gaga wearing vintage Versace in Taiwan
Lady Gaga is known for her various fashion metamorphoses. She can play the conservative; and then she can be seen sporting a meat dress made of raw beef slices.
But the diva went a little more mainstream when she was on tour in Taiwan a few weeks ago. She was seen sporting a bright green vintage Versace dress that came from none other than the L.A. vintage clothing store The Way We Wore.
The store's owner, Doris Raymond, said that Lady Gaga's stylist called right before the Grammy Awards in February and requested that a rack of clothes be set aside to select a piece the singer might wear to the presentation ceremony in Los Angeles. But then the stylist went with another source.
Soon after, the stylist called again and said she was looking for several pieces that Lady Gaga could wear while she was on her world tour.
"I pulled some amazing stuff," Raymond said. Lady Gaga's stylist went mostly with Versace and Thierry Mugler dresses and some vintage sunglasses.
Lady Gaga looked smashing in the Versace number that was designed when Gianni Versace was still alive. "I think she is a woman who can be transformed with the most glamorous high-fashion look and then she can be at the other end of the pendulum," Raymond said. "It is awesome for us to have contact with someone the world focuses on and what she is wearing."
