XCVI Fall ’12
With buyers lining the front row, Los Angeles–based XCVI opened its Fall ’12 runway show with a rousing performance by violinist Jennifer Spingola, who regaled the crowd while navigating the runway in silver-sequined hotpants and high-high heels.
For the runway show, the brand showed a collection of luxe hippie looks that kicked off with a red zip-front jacket with Scandinavian floral embroidery. Other highlights included open-work cardigans and dusters layered over sweater dresses, lace skirts, leggings, and cargo pants in rich vegetable shades. There were plenty of tie-dye knits and tops and skirts with asymmetrical hems.
The finale piece was a curve-hugging cream sweater dress with draped neckline and sheer panels that drew appreciative cheers from the audience.—Alison A. Nieder
