Elaine Marie Style Fall 12
The March 10 installation showcasing the Elaine Marie label during Concept L.A. Fashion Week at the Ace Gallery took a page from the 1970s fashion book by featuring high-waisted bell-bottom plaid pants that laced up the side.
Those high-waisted pants were paired with sleeveless cropped tops in either black or white. The spare collection of three looks also had a sleeveless black dress with an uneven hem.
Designer Elaine Allen launched her label in 2011. She takes her inspiration from vintage clothes and old movies. Allen grew up creating many of her own styles for school by retooling her mother’s clothes to make them more fashionable and unique.—Deborah Belgum
