Dina Bar-El’s fashions are a fixture on the red carpet. During the 2012 awards show season, fashions by the Los Angeles designer were worn by E! Entertainment news host Kristina Guerrero and Access Hollywood.com host Laura Saltman.
Bar-El kept up the glamour but went for Hollywood’s Golden Age—with a twist—for her Fall 2012 collection, which debuted at the L.A. Fashion Weekend@ Sunset Gower Studios on March 16.
Bar-El used fabrics such as leather sequins, which had not been used in her collections before. In the spirit of new angles on classic silhouettes, she tried different details, such as a novel lace strip placed above the chest on a bronze mid-20th-century-inspired dress. Another signature piece was Bar-El’s gold-hued dress with draping around the neck.
For a plainly modern look, Bar-El showed a look that mixed a bustier top with a houndstooth chiffon skirt.—Andrew Asch
