Doneger Names New L.A. Execs at Directives West

New York–based retail consultancy The Doneger Group and its West Coast partner, Directives West, named Sunnie Myung manager of market research and business development, specializing in the fast-fashion collections of the San Pedro Mart in Los Angeles.

Myung has more than 15 years of experience in the fashion industry and was more recently marketing manager with KOTRA, the Korean trade association, where she helped introduce Korean fashion brands in the United States. Myung’s career also includes serving as marketing director of The Swatch Group (Korea) Ltd. in Seoul.

“Sunnie brings an extensive background and strong network of relationships that will be instrumental in advising retailers on business opportunities from L.A.’s fast-fashion San Pedro Mart,” said Abbey Doneger, president of The Doneger Group. “We are very pleased to welcome Sunnie and are confident that she will be a valuable addition to our Directives West team.”

The Doneger Group and Directives West also named Rachael Robbins Kachko as merchandise manager for women’s and men’s contemporary sportswear.

Robbins Kachko was most recently director of buying operations at Southern California retail chain Planet Blue. She also spent nine years as creative/buying director for Los Angeles specialty retailer Lisa Kline.

“Rachael’s extensive knowledge of the contemporary market will be a valuable asset as we continue to provide clients the most comprehensive coverage of what defines and drives fashion and merchandising in the L.A. marketplace,” said Shelda Hartwell-Hale, Directives West’s vice president. “We are pleased to have Rachael join the team and believe she will be a great addition to our company.”—Alison A.
