Weltenbuerger's Venice Splash
Weltenbuerger manager Jillian Cainghug, left and Bryan Sanderson, the boutique's founder at their new Abbot Kinney shop.
Eastside boutique Weltenbuerger calls itself the “ experimental, progressive, bleeding edge” of fashion, and it made good on its recent promise to open on Los Angeles’ trendy Westside.
On July 29, it held a grand opening party for the second Weltenbuerger location, this one located at 1221 Abbot Kinney Blvd. in the always funky Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles. Weltenbuerger took over 1,200-square-feet of the Altered Space Gallery, which continues to sell art and jewelry in the 700-square-feet in back of the space.
Weltenbuerger translates as World Citizen in German, and the move helped the boutique live up toits name.Since it opened in Los Angeles’ Los Feliz neighborhood in 2011, the boutique specialized in avant-garde designers mostly from German labels. With the move, it has space to offer more Los Angeles indie designerssuch as Ermie, Mirror and 69.
