Chicago--Meet Malibu

Some things just go together naturally. Like Chicago and Malibu! Umm, let’s try that again. Some things have not been tried before-- like mixing Chicago and Malibu.
But waves and Windy City will meet thanks to pop up shop Sofia Bananabeat, which celebrates its grand opening July 7 at Malibu Village retail center located at 3868 Cross Creek Rd. in Malibu. The retail center is just a stone’s throw from the Pacific Ocean.
Billboard charting Malibu musician Cisco Adler, he released an EP called Aloha recently, and Chicago-based boutique Sofia will mix inspirations at this retail space which formerly housed Ron Herman men’s shop and the Freecity Superstore.
Scenester Adler is scheduled to play an acoustic performance around 6PM July 7. The pop-up shop will do business through Labor Day, and will sell apparel from Adler’s brand Bananabeat, as well as fashions stocked at Sofia’s Chicago boutique like M2F brand denim. Anybody for Chicago Cubs boardshorts?
