Kingpins Opens in Downtown L.A. Fashion District
An overview of the Kingpins Show at the Cooper Design Space
The vibe at the Kingpins Show was as casual as the apparel being displayed at the two-day event that opened today (Jan. 10) on the top floor of the Cooper Design Space in downtown Los Angeles.
Brightly colored sofas, in oranges, purples and reds, dotted the vast cement-floor penthouse where 36 curated exhibitors gathered to sell mostly denim pants, casual wear and various textiles that go with the blue jeans industry. There was everyone from J Brand jeans to Color Denim International.
Off in the corner was a huge 3,000-pound machine that uses an ecological laser technology to distress blue jeans. The contraption, owned by Spanish-based Jeanologia, was a popular attraction for those who weren't lined up at the buffet table or knocking down a few cocktails.
The show, making its first appearance at the Cooper Design Space, ends on Jan. 11.
