What inspired you tobecome a buyer/designer?
Justlike a lot of the other designer’s buyers, I have always been obsessedwith fashion.However, my trueinspiration comes from people and life itself. I believe fashion is the soul’s expression without speaking, so if I candesign something or pick out a fabric that someone feels great in, then my jobis done.At the end of the day, it’sbeing able to see the joy, confidence, fulfillment and true happiness thatpeople exude when they really feel great in something they are wearing.That’s AMAZING!!
Who are your personalstyle icons in the fashion industry?
Ialways love anything Alexander Wang Isabel Marant do; Stella McCartneywill always be a favorite; Carolina Herrera is a timeless beauty on personalstyle Melody Ehsani Victoria Beckham are a HUGE influence.
You are based out of New York; do you think living in thefashion capital of the US has influenced your style? If so, how?
Living in NY has definitely had an impact on my personalstyle. Fashion in the street alone provokes an insane amount ofinspiration.Always evolving, and neverfeeling the same each day, my style is very eclectic, and NY is the perfectplace to be to express that individuality.
What is the one item in your closet(clothing or accessory) that you can’t live without?
My dad’ssweaters…
What is your favoritepiece from the current Jessica Simpson Outerwear collection?
Thewhole line is amazing, so its hard to pick just one, but if I had too, I wouldsay The multi colored fur jacket they have available.
With holiday season quickly approaching, many of us are planningoutfits for upcoming events. What is your holiday party style?
This season my holiday party style is veryandrogynous.A mixture of menswear silhouettestailored to a woman’s body.Think YSL“Le Smoking” meets Tom ford Gucci era 2001 meets the sporty tomboy.Fashion is about fun and this holiday seasonis going to be a Party!!!
