French Fashion Tour Stops in California and Las Vegas

In a cross between a rock-band tour bus and trade show booths, the Transatlantic showroom will take its French fashion and lifestyle brands on the road in a 24-foot-long airstream.

Transatlantic is based in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was founded by Jean-Baptiste Langlais. After working in Paris for eight years on the trade show side of the fashion industry, he wanted to bring French luxury brands to the American market.

“We wanted to create a cutting-edge personal approach for buyers where they could interact with us in an intimate manner,” Langlais said. “Being French, we like to romanticize, and the 1950s American dream was very influential. We wanted to bring a modern twist to the door-to-door salesman. … We understand how incredibly busy the buying season is. We wanted to make it easier for retailers by bringing our brands directly to them, in their own city.”

Its first stop is in San Francisco Aug. 10–13 at the W Hotel, followed by a stop Aug. 14–17 at the Josè Eber Salon in Beverly Hills. It continues on to MAGIC in Las Vegas, as well as Aspen, Colo.; Dallas; Austin, Texas; Miami; Atlanta; New York City; and Chicago.

Jewelry brands Corpus Christi, Appartement a Louer and Delphine Charlotte Parmentier; accessories brands Maison F, Chapal, Atelier Mercadal and Guibert Paris; clothing collections Marchand Drapier and Robinson les Bains and Royalties; and porcelain goods by Site Corot will each have their own display.

The Transatlantic is sponsored by established fashion fixtures in France: the contemporary trade shows Who’s Next and Prêt-à-Porter, both held in Paris; Galeries Lafayette department store; and French beauty brands Lierac and Phyto. Who’s Next and Prêt-à-Porter will a have lounge in the airstream, which will play a video with the upcoming season’s trends. —Rhea Cortado
