With Earth Day coming up April 22, Orange County brand Element introduced the Fall/Holiday looks from its eco-line Element Emerald Collection at the Ron Robinson boutique at the Los Angeles Fred Segal April 19.
The event showcased some of the Element label’s favorite things such as guitarist and skateboarder Ray Barbee providing a jazzysoundtrack,Sierra Nevada beer, Jameson whisky and Oh Yes, You Candy! vegan candies . Element founderJohnny Schillereff and designer Val Killeen were at the party showing off the line. Johnny confided that building an environmentally friendly label takes a lot of extra steps such assourcing the right materials like organic cotton, which unfortunately can be in short supply. But the result is sweet Johnny said. He and his team believe they are serving the environment.
“At the end of the day , it is about sending a message that you are making a difference,” Schillereff said. The Element Emerald Collection’s 25 piece fall line is meant for all seasons, ranging from boardshorts to cold weather ready-puff jackets. Price points range from $80 to $120 for sweaters, $160 to $200 for jackets for this line which is certified as being eco-friendly.
