Capturing Fashion Fun and Street Style on Fashion's Night Out
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better for this year’s Fashion’s Night Out… the Lomography Gallery Store LA is teaming up with style staple Space 15 Twenty and Foam Magazine to celebrate fun clothes, L.A.’s unique style and how to shoot street fashion.
The Lomography store is offering a free workshop using the quirky cameras to capture L.A. street style.
“Los Angeles and Southern California in general have sort of their own laid-back spin on what is cutting edge in the fashion world, which perfectly suits the look of photographs made from a Lomography camera,” said Lindsay Hutchens, the shop manager for the Lomography Gallery Store LA.
The retro cameras use analog film and create old-time images that work well for capturing unique looks, she said.
“The workshop will be on using the LC-A+ to shoot street fashion, so there will be an element of photography basics and specifics on using the LC-A+ camera. We’ll also cover shooting much like a street photographer would, but in a way that shows there is fashion inspiration all around you.”
Foam Magazine will be providing gift bags with goodies and Space 15 Twenty will have their doors open until 10:00 pm, with additional clothing stands set up in the courtyard and special discounts available during the event.
If the chance to become the next Bill Cunningham wasn’t enough to entice you, there will also be drinks and Scott Johnson from KXLU’s Reverberation will be spinning.
The event will take place at Space 15 Twenty on September 8 at 7pm.
