Lectra's Modaris V7 Software Focuses on 3D Technology
In the latest version of Lectra’s apparel pattern-making and grading software solution, Modaris V7, the French machinery and software maker incorporated fully integrated 3D prototyping.
Visitors to the recent CISMA trade show in Shanghai got to see Modaris V7 in action.

Modaris’ 3D prototyping solution helps ensure consistent fit, accelerates product development, and reduces prototyping costs, according to a company statement.Modaris V7 combines patternmaking, draping and sampling functions. Thesoftware can also incorporate fabrics, trims, colors, and logos, whichcan be adjusted according to style and proportion. Using Modaris V7, designers and patternmakers can draft patterns and view the garment in 3D and using a specific fabric immediately. Adjustments can be made on screen and translated to the flat pattern.
Italian manufacturer Prontomodel reported a 50 percent reduction in the number of physical samples made after implementing Modaris V7, according to the Lectra.
