Dancing Through the Tears

"Hi Everybody,

Last night’s “Dancing With the Stars” went for everyone’s heartstrings. And it was a TEAR JERKER!

The theme to the performances was a very emotional challenge to the celebrities. They had to speak about the most memorable year in their lives. There were a lot of moist eyes in the audience. There were stories of heartbreak and tragedy. Tug! Tug! I'm not one for the tears, but they kind of got me a little choked up (still, no tears, though).

But before the serious, let’s talk fashion. The costumes consisted of the typical attire for each dance style performed: Gowns for the waltz, sashaying fringe for samba and a sexy black outfit for the cha cha. And suits for the male celebrities—even one in pink for Carson Kressley, the style maven.

Before dancing, each celebrity relayed a personal and emotional story.

Robert Kardashian talked about how his father Robert Kardashian Sr. "died of cancer. (His father is best known for being one of the lawyers on the defense team of the O.J. Simpson trial).
"His dance was the fox trot. Nice, but still a little stiff.

Chynna Phillips spoke about the abandonment issues she had with her father John Phillips (one of the singers in the Mamas Papas), which left her depressed and abusing alcohol. "
Her dance performance was really good. I told you, look out for her.

Chaz Bono danced to a song his father Sonny Bono wrote titled “Laugh At Me.” The message is to not care about what people think of you and just live life for yourself.
Unfortunately, the dancing wasn’t that good. Maybe he’ll be the next one eliminated?

"Carson Kressley mentioned that his most memorable year was the time he worked on the hit reality show “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.” He talked about growing up different from everyone else and learning how to love himself. He is a hoot! But the best line of the night went to Len, describing Carson’s style: “He put the boy in FLAMBOYANT!”"
"He did a very entertaining tango to “It’s My Life” by Talk Talk.

Kristin Cavallari said her most memorable year was the year she moved to Los Angeles and was deciding whether she should go to school or pursue a career in the entertainment field. (Really!) "
"Still, she did a nice samba to “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce.

RickiLake spoke about how her home was burned down and her marriage ended--but, in the end, she found love again. "
"She performed a very HOT! Rumba to Sara Bareilles’s “Gravity,” and earned the top score of the night.

Hope Solo spoke about the World Cup finals as being her memorable year. "
"She performed the cha cha to “Tonight” by Enrique Iglesias. "But I'm still not impressed. She could be dancing on her last leg. We'll see if Hope floats again.

David Arquette’s memorable moment in his life was last year when his marriage to Courtney Cox was in trouble and he used alcohol to escape. (She was present, as usual.)"
"He did an okay rumba to “O-o-h Child” by the 5 Stairsteps.

Nancy Grace spoke about the difficult pregnancy she had, which almost took her life and her childrens’. "
"She did a nice waltz to “Moon River” by Andy Williams, and dedicated it to her children. "
"But her performance was right after J.R. Martinez, which proved to be a tough one to follow—and the most emotional of the night. "

"J.R. recreated for the audience the day that he was injured in Iraq—with pictures—when his truck ran over a landmine. He remembered waking up in the hospital and seeing his face for the first time and wishing he had died instead. But, he said, his mother made him think about his life and not his looks. "
"He performed a rumba to Tim McGraw’s “If You’re Reading This” and dedicated it to all the soldiers who didn't make it home. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Standing ovation.

All in all it was a very good show—even though it was an emotional jolt to the senses.

But someone has to GO! My vote is for Hope, but it will probably be Chaz.

See ya. Keep on dancing!
