Brigade LA Takes A Bow

There’s always a crowd around the Bottega Louie restaurant at the corner of West 7th Street and South Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. It’s a great spot to open a fashion boutique, said Kuo Yang.
But he was the first boutique owner to take a gamble on the bustling corner. He produced a gala debut party Nov. 11 for Brigade LA. He forecasts a lot of business coming from the emporium-sized gourmet restaurant.
“Being 50 feet from Bottega Louie is a slam dunk,” Yang said. “Every single woman at Bottega Louie is my customer.”
Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry graced the party as well as the always hip designer John Eshaya who placed his JET label at the boutique.
Handbags and footwear will be a focus of Brigade. But shoe and handbag obsessives will have to walk through the entire 1,500-square-foot store to browse Brigade’s boots and accessories. The trip through the store was created by design, Yang said. Consumers will walk through the contemporary casual clothing collections, which offers brands such as Fluxus, 71 Stanton, Vivienne Westwood and Siwy denim.
