When it comes to movie poster marketing, one thing you can count on for sure is formulaic archetypes, like the little red dress.

Feel like you see the same movie posters again and again? It’s not a re-release.

Beyond the ever present little red dress (pictured above), movie poster trends include the back-to-back stance, the couple in the bed, or the spread legs serving as a frame (the likes of which have been conveniently compiled and critiqued here {insert link}But if the movie’s poster is as original as the flick its marketing is attempting to push, then, simply put, they’ve been caught red-handed

Whether aesthetically pleasing or not, these posters serve the purpose of positively reflecting, and thereby selling, the film’s content.
