Tokidoki’s stable of stylish collaborations is on a growth spurt, and you can call home with the pop culture brand’s most recent collab, which was released Nov. 3 during a party at Tokidoki’s Melrose Avenue shop.
The latest collaboration teams up Tokidoki with wireless carrier MetroPCS Communications,Inc. and content creator SA Studios Global. They released the Huawei M835 Sanctioned by Tokidoki cell. It is an Android phone which sports cases covered by Tokidoki art. It also packs more than long distance plan.
There are Tokidoki ring tones, Tokidoki wallpaper and Tokidoki camera apps. Basically you can take pics of your friends with Tokidoki characters like Adios, an adorable Grim Reaper.
The Los Angeles-based Tokidoki already claims a big stable of collaboration projects.There’s a project with Mattel’s Barbie, a cosmetics line with retailer Sephora, T-shirts and an imposing vinyl doll made with fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld,toys,clothes, and hats made with comic books powerhouse Marvel, as well as new products from an ongoing collab with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, the label that started the whole Japanese cute culture craze, which inspired Tokidoki.
Exhausted by that name check of collaborations? There’s more than laughs and fun associated with partnering with other cool brands said Simone Legno, Tokidoki’s creative director.
Consumers constantly demand new merchandise Legno said. A debut of new product is a dynamic way of rekindling their interest in a label “There were less people who wanted to do collaborations,” said the Italian born Legno of the recent past. “Now everyone wants to do them.”
