STYLE FILE
Messe Frankfurt New York Textile Show Coordinator Lauren Harp has earned the nickname “Coco” (as in a certain famous French lady, or it-girl/model, ok there are a few good Cocos) around our office for her of-the-moment style with a touch of Southern charm.
We caught up with her for the dish on style, summer what she’s looking forward to in July.
Favorite color combination?
I am loving light muted colors right now. My favorite combination at the moment is ivory or crisp white with mauve or a rosy pink. Gorgeous!
Classic must-have item for a man? A woman?
Men need a classic tailored suit jacket in a cut that is not too trendy so that it can stand the test of time. Women need a great pair of black peep-toe heels. If I could only have one pair of shoes, those would be them.
What’s your must-have item for transitioning between seasons?
Right now scarves are essential for every season. They are a great accessory that can transition to any time of year.
How would you describe your style?
My style changes on a daily basis. Some days I am bohemian and other days I am dressed up chic. Today I am a preppy sailor girl wearing nautical stripes.
Favorite thing from the first International Apparel Sourcing Show last July?
I loved the Sourcing Showcase at the show last year. We had the opportunity to display some beautiful garments from great companies. The team did an excellent job putting the display together.
What are you most looking forward to this July in NYC (other than the show)?
I am hoping to be able to visit the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibit at the Met while in New York. McQueen was such a visionary so I am sure the exhibit is absolutely phenomenal.
