Dr. Jenn Berman can provide counseling on almost everything.

Have a problem with the kids? Read her book “SuperBaby: 12 Ways to Give Your Child a Head Start in the First Three Years.” Need to improve your game? Berman runs a sports-consulting practice called Psychological Edge. Concerned about fashion and the environment? Berman launched Retail Therapy, an organic T-shirt line. The shirts bear slogans such as “I Make a Difference,” “Embrace Change” and “Take Care of the World.”

“I am driven by a passion for helping people,” Berman said. “[Retail Therapy] is more than fashion. It is about spreading an eco-friendly message. This is about compassion.”

Berman said it was one of her ambitions to run a fashion line. Berman’s dream became a reality after she made an appearance two years ago on an Oxygen Network show called “Pretty Wicked,” where she met Stefanie Lain, a show stylist. The two collaborated on the look for the line as well as the slogans and graphics for the T-shirts. The stylist said the line should have benefits for wearers’ self-esteem. “When you feel good, you look good,” Lain said.

The debut line offers five shirt styles for adults and six kids’ shirts as well as six onesies for infants. The shirts are made of organic cotton. The graphics are created with eco-friendly, water-based inks. The line’s hangtags are embedded with seeds. Drop them on the ground and they might grow into wildflowers.

Eventually, Retail Therapy will grow into a full collection, Berman said. Wholesale price points range from $16 for onesies to $24 for T-shirts.For more information, contact Diana Gonzales of the Rock Candy Kids Showroom at (213) 623-1087 or email rockcandykids@hotmail.com.—Andrew Asch
